God is my Healer

Life is full surprises...some good and some not so good!
While broken down along the road we met a fixer who told us about the healer and fixer of our bodies and heart. God is the healer and the fixer! God holds all power and because of Jesus dying on the cross we have healing!
If we are sick we are supposed to go to people of the church and have them pray for us (James 5:14-16). This healing is available to ALL who will ask and believe. Psalm 103:2,3 says, " Praise the Lord, O my coul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.". Nothing is too big or too small for God; afterall He created our bodies and our hearts.
Just as Pastor Larissa and Miss Justin were able to trust Gus the Mechanic to fix their car because he worked on cars all of the time and even built some of his own- we can trust GOD!

I Will Remember What God Has Done For Me

Let's play a Road Trip Game! I'll name a shape or color and you name something it makes you think of. Ready...Set...Go
1. Round
2. Green
3. Triangle
4. Yellow
5. Red
Were you able to think of things that reminded you of the colors or shapes? I hope so.
Jesus left is 2 things that we were supposed to do to remind us of what God has done for us:
1. Water baptism
-symbolizes we are dead to sin and alive in Jesus
- Jesus was baptized as an example for us
- Immersion: to go completely under the water
2. Communion
- symbolizes Jesus' body and blood that was shed on the cross for our sins
- Jesus asked us to take communion in remembrance of Him until He returns
- examine our hearts before communion to take with a pure and grateful heart
These two "things" are called the "Ordinances of the Church".
We are to keep them so that we remember what God has done for us.
They do not "save" us but are a symbol of what God has done for us and in us!
BONUS: Write down the things God does for you so you will always remember what God has done for you!
memory verse: I will remember the deeds of the Lord. I will remember the miracles of long ago. Psalms 77:11

Jesus' Story Transforms My Story

North Carolina...Nashville, TN...Arkansas!!!

Here we are in Eureka Springs, Arkansas!

This is one of the 3 largest Jesus Statues in the ENTIRE world! After sightseeing we had a little "sit-down" where we talked about the story of Jesus.
Jesus is God's Son.
God sent His son to die for our sins.
Jesus had to die because the was the "ransom" price to be paid to get us back from sin...because sin has kidnapped us!
God has an amazing story written for our lives...including being bought back from our kidnapper...but we have to choose for God to write our story.
We do this by saying,
"God, I realize sin has kidnapped me. I believe you sent your son to die for me to pay the price because you love me. I accept that. Forgive me of all of my wrongs and help me to live for you."

memory verse: Do not be afraid for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1
