When Trouble Comes I Will Praise God!

How do you respond when things do not go the way you want?
We learned this last week that we should praise God no matter what...just like Paul and Silas did when they were thrown into prison for something that wasn't even their fault! They praised God and God sent an earthquake...freed the prisoners...and the guard and his entire family gave their life to Jesus that night!
Who can tell what will come out of hard times that we can't explain or we don't want to go through? God is always at work and as we praise Him even in the hard times we remember:

1. Who God is
2. God can do anything
3. God will do what He said He would do

We may not feel happy but God's joy and strength will carry us through every situation!

I was thinking about a little seed in my garden I discovered the other day. The storm blew away some of the top soil from my seed that I had planted. As I began to cover the seed I noticed them split and beginning to sprout...they were growing! It was so beautiful!!! I thought, "if the soil had not been moved I wouldn't have got to see what was happening under the dirt.". You never know what God is doing. Most of the times we don't see or understand what God is doing but He is working! Keep trusting God and Praise Him!

memory verse: Dear brothers and sisters, when trouble comes your way, consider an opportunity for great joy. James 1:2

GOkids News

God Loves Everyone and So Should I

I have not been able to get "Rescued Me" (the song we sang on Sunday at GOkids) out of my head! Can you believe that God loved us so much that He died for us. he loves even the ones who beat him and put him on the cross. He even loves us when we make mistakes or break his law.

We know LOVE because HE LOVES US!

What is God's law?

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is like it, Love your neighbor as yourself!

Jesus chose to tell the people a story to teach them how we should love others. He told them a story (Matthew 10) about a man who went on a trip and was attacked by robbers. He was left abandoned and in pain along the road. Two people who were "supposed" to be his friends passed on by because it was inconvenient or they were too busy. Then someone came by who was "supposed" to be an enemy and they helped the man!

Anyone can love someone who is pretty, popular, nice, or fun but not everyone can love those who maybe smell or act funny or are mean. God helps us to love those people!

In fact He expects that if we are His children that we will obey His law and love them! He will help us. We just have to ask.

God loves everyone and so should I!

memory verse: For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself. Galatians 5:14

South Africa

This last week we at GOkids discovered what life is like South Africa! Ed and Sonja Corbin moved to South Africa several years ago to share the love of Jesus with children through camps and retreats. They are training up boys girls to be amazing men and women to infect their country with the love of God. They use puppets, object lessons and games to share the message of Jesus at a camp called Royal Family Camp at Jackson's Ridge. This camp was purchased with the money we give to BGMC!

YOU are helping to make a difference!

We learned that nothing is too hard for the Lord. He made Sarah have a baby when she was too old to have children. God can help us earn and receive money to give. He can give us boldness to go and speak. He can help us to retain knowledge so that we can do well in school...all we have to do is ask THE LORD!

NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR THE LORD!

This summer South Africa is hosting the WORLD CUP!!!
As you watch the soccer games remember to pray for the Corbins in South Africa!

Pray for:

the children who attend the Royal Family Camps that they will know Jesus

the Christians to share the love of Jesus everywhere in South Africa

the children whose parents have died from AIDS
